As part of our ongoing operations in Ghana, we are seeking a qualified and experienced LOADER OPERATOR to join our underground operations team.
Role Summary: The Loader Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of underground loaders (LHDs), ensuring effective mucking, loading, and material handling in line with mine plans, safety standards, and production requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate underground loaders (LHDs) safely and efficiently in accordance Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Muck, load, and transport broken rock and materials to designated locations
- Conduct pre-start checks and basic equipment maintenance
- Identify and report mechanical faults and unsafe conditions
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards
- Maintain accurate shift and equipment operation records
- Work closely with supervisors and maintenance teams
- Monitor ground conditions and report hazards or unsafe conditions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Loader Operator in an underground mining environment.
- Valid Loader Operator Certificate of Competency
- Minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ experience operating loaders underground
- Strong understanding of underground material handling and safety systems
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team and follow operational instructions
- Strong safety awareness and hazard-identification skills.
- Physically fit and able to work shift rosters, including nights.
