Shift Boss
Procrest Africa, a company under the CMAC-Thyssen Mining Group (Canada), is an underground mining services company supporting operations in Ghana. Our core services include raise boring, vertical and lateral underground development, contract mining, and shaft sinking. We are committed to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality underground mining solutions.
As part of our ongoing operations in Ghana, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Shift Boss to join our underground team.
The Shift Boss will be responsible for supervising underground operations during assigned shifts, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures and statutory mining regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and coordinate underground mining activities during assigned shifts
· Enforce safety, health, and environmental standards at all times
· Ensure compliance with mine plans, procedures, and legal requirements
· Monitor productivity, manpower, and equipment utilization
· Identify, report, and rectify unsafe conditions and practices
· Complete accurate shift reports and conduct effective shift handovers
· Coordinate with engineering, safety, and maintenance teams
Requirements
· Strong knowledge of underground mining Valid Shift Boss Certificate of Competency or equivalent experience
· Three to five (3-5) years’ working experience in an underground mine
· Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering
· operations, ground control standards and safety systems
· Proven leadership, supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills
